In the first chapter we learned to recognise notes 1 (Do) and 2 (Re) by ear. We are now going to add a new note. Note 7 (Ti). If you can hear Do as the final note of a melody you should be able to hear Re as needing to drop to Do to finish. Ti needs to rise to Do to end a melody.

Here is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star again – this time ending on Ti. Can you hear that it needs to move up a tone to finish the song?
